Youth vaping has been described as an “epidemic”. At a time when smoking is at an all-time low, why are so many youth attracted to vaping? We explore the affects of marketing and misinformation as well as the connections between vaping and another pressing issue for parents and educators: youth mental health. And, once we better understanding why youth are vaping, what can we do about it?

Michael Chaiton, PhD,
Dr. Chaiton is Director of Research at the Ontario Tobacco Research Unit, a senior scientist at CAMH's Institute for Mental Health Policy Research and an associate professor with the Dalla Lana School of Public Health and the Institute for Medical Sciences at the University of Toronto. He is also co-director of the Collaborative Specialization on Addiction Studies.

Trisha Tulloch, MD
Dr. Tulloch is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Paediatrics at the University of Toronto and a Paediatric Subspecialist in Adolescent Medicine. She is currently a Staff Physician and Project Investigator at the Hospital for Sick Children in the Division of Adolescent Medicine and a Physician within the Intrepid Lab at CAMH.
