LUNGS MATTER

Home radon mitigation support

Radon is the second-leading cause of lung cancer in Canada...it can also be found in almost all homes in Canada. The only way to know if there is radon in your house is to test for it.

The Lungs Matter: Home Radon Mitigation Grant Program

Despite concerning radon levels, some families cannot afford the cost of mitigation. You may be eligible for up to $1,500 towards radon mitigation.

Are you eligible?

In order to be eligible for funding, applicants to Lungs Matter must:

  • have been diagnosed with lung cancer or
  • be from low- or moderate-income households (priority will be given to low-income households).

Household income must be no more than:

  • Alberta  $112,700 (family), $41,300 (single)
  • British Columba  $102,500 (family), $34,700 (single)
